Master Plan

bike waterThe CWATS master plan was adopted by the county and local municipal councils in November 2012.

This walking and cycling plan will guide the region while building cycling and pedestrian facilities over the next 20+ years.

The main parts to the master plan include:

  • Engaging the public & stakeholders in the development of CWATS: educating the public about CWATS plans
  • The Proposed Active Transportation Network: shows the different types of trails and paths
  • Network Designer’s Toolbox: shows the different scenarios for different situations
  • Implementing the Plan: shows the different phases, maintenance and costs
  • Active Transportation Policies and Recommendations: shows the policies and recommendations for all the different components that are involved with CWATS

The goal of CWATS is to build safe paths and trails for cyclists and pedestrians, including off-road multi-use trails, and on-road cycling facilities.
