Why should Essex County residents care about CWATS?

CWATS has one main goal: to help make Essex County a great place to "Walk, Ride, County Wide!"

To do this, we are building cycling lanes, new multi-use trails, active living corridors, and expanding the path and trail network. We are working with partners to educate citizens about how to share the road safely, how to ride safely, and how to prevent collisions. View the CWATS Charter here.

Active transportation is a great way to be physically active on a regular basis. CWATS encourages physical and mental fitness and supports healthy lifestyles for everyone who uses the system. It makes our region a more attractive place for people to want to live and grow, to invest in business, and to visit.
